OBJECTIVES OF THE FAN MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION - AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND Print

FMA-ANZ is a collegiate body of the manufacturers and suppliers of fan equipment speaking in one voice to represent the needs and wishes of the members of the association.


FMA-ANZ aims to provide representation for the development of the fan equipment industry such that it can thrive and grow.


FMA-ANZ aims to:

  • Develop communication networks to provide representation for the fan equipment manufacturing industry in Australia and New Zealand.
  • To increase the profile of the fan industry into government and non-government organizations who are stakeholders of associated industries.
  • To increase the profile of the fan industry into government and non-government organizations who are stakeholders of environmental associations.
  • To increase the profile of the fan industry into government and non-government organizations who are stakeholders of safety associations.
  • To develop the education of engineers in the design, application and use of fan equipment and systems.


FMA-ANZ wish to:

Develop systems of self-regulation to be incorporated within the framework of the Minimum Efficiency Performance Standards (MEPS) in Australia and New Zealand; and

Work with Standards Australia and New Zealand to effect changes in appropriate standards; and

To represent the non-domestic fan industry’s views and capabilities in the following bodies:

  • ISO
  • Standards Australia and New Zealand
  • Australian Building Codes Board (BCA)
  • National departments/agencies responsible for energy efficiency policy and regulation of air movement products, components and systems
  • Testing facilities
